The Sirius building in Sydney is an iconic Brutalist building that was nearly demolished. It is situated in The Rocks. The oldest part of Sydney. It has been immortalised in movies like Playing Beatie Bow. It was a Housing Commission structure that housed the poor and disabled. It was saved from destruction and revamped for luxury contemporary usage as it had become decayed and almost derelict. Not sure I like the new changes but its modular design will always hold dreamy attention.
My work holds a grip in a perspective tug-o-war in colour and galactic form. A world behind a flat landscape of trees paying homage to the great Gogh. Reversed and hopefully revered, a transfer of a timeless experience that transcends the imagination to something higher.
